The Digital Locker Scheme is an important part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Digital India program.

For this, you should have an Aadhaar card. You can open your digital locker using the Aadhaar number.
What is its purpose?
The purpose of the digital locker scheme is to reduce the paper form of documents. Apart from this, it is also a motive to increase the trend of the exchange of e-documents between agencies.
Applicants can scan their documents and upload them on the website.
What facility will you get?
Each applicant of the digital locker scheme gets 10MB of personal storage space linked to Aadhaar, where e-documents and URI links can be safely stored.
It can be accessed when needed. This facility is available through a web portal. In the future, this service will also be available from the mobile app.
How to create a DLS account?
• First you click on this link: digitallocker.gov.in
• Here you can create an account with the help of email id, password, or Aadhaar.
• After this, verification links are sent to the mobile number and email ID linked to Aadhaar.
• Your account will be created as soon as they are verified.
• Then you can log in here with your user ID and password.
• You can scan your academic documents and proof of identity/address and upload it here.
• After this, you have to complete the digital signature process.

Keep these things in mind
• In addition to your user name and password on the digital locker, you can sign-in with social media such as Facebook, Twitter, and Gmail accounts.
• After signing in, your personal account will be in front of you.
In the first, you will have the option to share certificates issued by different agencies, their URL (link), date of issue, and share.
• Click on the uploaded document and choose your certificate. Fill in the requested information about it. One by one, you can upload all your documents in a digital locker.
